Jan Petter Collier (b. 1950) has collected Norwegian and international art for 40 years. In this book, a wide selection from his collection is presented, a total of 50 different artists, 25 from the Nordic region. In a conversation with Janne Sirén, director of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, Collier talks about his passion for art and his commitment to promoting Nordic art abroad. The collection maintains a very high level with works by, among others, Per Kirkeby, Fischli & Weiss, Asger Jorn, Robert Rauschenberg, Josh Smith, Bruce Nauman, Inger Sitter and Håkon Bleken. Norwegian artists include; Ida Ekblad, Eline Mugaas, Sverre Bjærtnes and Bjarne Melgaard. Collier's interest in photography is shown through outstanding photographers such as Ed Ruscha, Steven Shore, William Eggleston, Frank Horvat, Per Maning and Dag Alveng. The book also consists of a conversation between Tone Hansen, director at MUNCH, and artists Eline Mugaas and Olav Christopher Jenssen as well as an essay by Knut Brundtland.
