The greatest war

Somewhere in Australia, sometime during the great depression (1932) a few depressed farmers decided that life was too hard. The emus has been feeding on their livelihood.. without permission, and not paying a cent. The depressed farmers instantly stopped being depressed and got angry instead, appealing to the military to help them with their quandary. The proud military of Australia was not only passionate but also empathic, so without hesitation they waged war against the emus, with money directly out of the poor farmers pockets they were practically an unstoppable killing machine. Or..?
